The Systems, Engineering and Management Consultants
High Speed Rail
As part of the integrated design team ( RLE a JV between Bechtel, Halcrow, Arup & Systra ) our principles held various roles including peer review for the strategy of the testing and commissioning of the completed system and as Project Director for the design, procurement, construction and setting to work of the depot facilities at Temple Mills Depot.
Our high speed experience also includes TAV in Brazil where our Delivery Director was Project Director for the lead consultant through concept and feasibility study stages and on up to the start of the procurement process for the Government of Brazil.
On the Acela project in the USA, we provided the expertise to the contractor for the North End Electrification to manage the completion of the construction of the 2x25kV AC Electrification equipment and all of the testing of the equipment, including dynamic tests on the vehicle and putting to work of the system.
We have also had involvement in various guises in the Dutch High Speed Rail project, Taiwan High Speed Rail and various high speed rail studies throughout the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
In addition to the “traditional” definition of High Speed Rail we also have extensive experience of other high speed intercity systems such as the 225kph trains on the East Coast and West Coast Mainlines in the UK and rapid rail systems elsewhere in the UK, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand.
